Peer Tutoring

The Peer Tutor Training Program was implemented at RBHS in 2002.

It involves students in Year 10 completing an accredited TAFE course in literacy tutoring and providing support for selected Year 7 and 8 students.

The Year 10 tutors complete modules in theory (TAFE training) and fieldwork (tutoring sessions daily in DEAR time). They assist their selected students to improve their reading skills by using class texts from all subject areas.

This program has many academic, social and welfare benefits for both tutor and chosen student.
