Technology and Applied Studies

Courses in Industrial Arts are designed to develop, via practical applications, a student's knowledge and understanding of selected industry related technologies.

The students are engaged in practical work utilizing related technology to develop their confidence, competence, and responsibility in designing, producing, and evaluating with an emphasis on safe work practices.

In practical work, constituting the majority of teaching time, students utilize materials (such as wood, metals, electronic components, computer software etc) and technology (such as routers, welders, computers etc) to complete projects.

Associated theory is taught to complement the practical work along with essential instruction on the safe operation of machinery and tools.
