History
History is a compulsory subject in Years 7-10. The Stage 5 (Year 9 and 10) course is tested for the Board of Studies School Certificate course at the end of Year 10.
Stage 6 (Years 11 and 12) provides the opportunity for students to study Modern and Ancient History. Studies of Religion is also offered by the History Department as a 1 Unit subject. Extension History (1 Unit) is only offered to Year 12 students.
Textbooks are generally used as class sets rather than issued to students, particularly in the junior school.
Middle Ages Day
This annual incursion is available for all year 7 students studying Medieval History. An expert in this period, James Adams has a vast array of weapons, armour, clothing and artefacts from this period which he shares with students. Students are able to handle the weapons and dress in the clothing and chain mail. James brings the period alive with many fascinating and often gruesome stories which year 7 enjoy.
